Why Your Business Emails Are Going to Spam
In early 2024, Google and Yahoo introduced strict new security requirements for all domain senders. If your domain does not have SPF, DKIM, and DMARC keys configured in your DNS record, major mail networks will flag your emails as unverified and route them directly to junk folders—or block them completely.
Here is what these security records actually do (in plain English):
A public list of servers that are allowed to send mail on behalf of your domain name. This stops spammers sending fake emails pretending to be you.
A digital signature key added to the header of every email you send. It proves that the email was actually sent by you and wasn’t altered in transit.
A policy file that tells other mail servers what to do if an email fails SPF or DKIM checks (e.g. do nothing, move to junk, or reject completely). It also sends you reports on who is trying to spoof your domain.
